Mohammed Hersi, Group Director of Operations- Pollmans Tours & Safaris

Mohammed Hersi is the Group Director Of Operations at Kenya’s leading inbound Tour Operator Pollmans Tours & Safaris. He is also a Director at The Baobab Beach Resort & Spa in Diani. He is also a Director of Taita Hills Wildlife Resorts.

Mohammed is the immediate past Chair of Kenya Tourism Federation and he served on KEPSA board during his tenure. He is also past Chair of Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers and Caterers and Kenya Coast Tourism Association. Mohammed is past president of Rotary club of Mombasa , past president of Skal Kenya both for Mombasa club and National level. He was instrumental in bringing the first ever world congress to Mombasa in 2018.

Mohammed is currently the Chairman of Diani Hospitality Owners Association.

Mohammed is a certified trainer with Centre For Corporate Governance for the past 15+ years and a member of Institute of Directors Kenya.

He is mentor to many young upcoming managers and sits on various boards across Kenya including Vipingo Development Co, a subsidiary of Centum group. He is also the current chair of the advisory board of United Nations Youth Association of Kenya.

He was a winner of the Most Influential Digital Leader at the 2020 Africa Digital Influencer Awards and Business Leader of the year award Mombasa county 2022.

Joachim Westerveld is a serial entrepreneur who believes in creating businesses that impact people & our world positively. For him, it’s all about doing good by the three P’s People, Planet and Profit. He is a Global citizen, Dutch by birth who has made Kenya his home.

His current 9 to 5 is as CEO of Highlands Drinks ltd, however, he is a man who wears many leadership hats one of which is as Executive Chairman at Bio-Foods Kenya, Greenspoon, SamakGro– and Mawingu.

He is currently in the process of setting up Maxim-in Kenya-a leading agricultural & agri-business input provider. He is also co-founder and Chairman of ProFarm Pakistan. Joachim is the co-founder of TBL Mirror Fund and the founder and owner of The Blue Link.

Joachim is passionate about sustainability, education reform, enabling people to shine (shine by proxy) & the greatest, fatherhood.


Peter Njonjo is Co-Founder and Group CEO of Twiga Foods, a B2B e-commerce company that focuses on food and grocery in the informal retail. The Company was voted as the 35th Most Innovative Company Globally by Fast Company and selected as a Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum, both in 2020.

Prior to taking up his current role, Peter spent 21 years with The Coca-Cola Company with his last role being President of the West and Central Africa Business Unit, made up of 33 countries, based in Lagos, Nigeria. Previously, Njonjo also led the Coca-Cola business in East Africa, overseeing six countries including Kenya. Njonjo was President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kenya, a Director of the American Business Council in Nigeria and has been voted among the top 100 young leaders in Africa by Forbes Afrique and “Top 40 under 40” by The Business Daily in Kenya.

He currently serves on the Global Board of Junior Achievement and on the Executive Committee of the YPO Chapter in Nairobi.

Ashok Shah is a Chartered Insurer with ACII.

He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) and an Associate of the Insurance Institute of Kenya (AIIK). He is a past Chairman of Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI) and currently the Group Chief Executive of Apollo Investments Limited which owns APA Insurance, APA Life, APA Uganda, Apollo Asset Management amongst others.

He is a Director of CDSC representing the Capital Market Challenge Fund. Other directorships include Island Life Assurance Mauritius, and Reliance Insurance Company Ltd, Tanzania. He served on Barclays Bank and ABSA Bank Board retiring after 9 years.

He is a seasoned executive with nearly 50 years of progressive experience within the Insurance Industry both in East Africa and England. A solid reputation for achieving corporate growth objectives through providing strategic direction, diverse perspectives and positive leadership. Known within the industry for driving business results and maximizing profitability through the delivery of innovative products, quality and service and prudent management of people, technology and processes.

In 2010 he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award for services to the Insurance industry. In 2019 APA Insurance received the European Microfinance Award for Strengthening Resilience to climate change, from Ashok’s push for covering small holder farmers and pastoralists and building sand dams in the semi-arid parts of Kenya. He has been nominated to EY Entrepreneur of the Year, AABLA Entrepreneur and Philanthropy.

Joe Alando is the General Manager Optiven Global Office where he leads a commercial team that is settling Kenyans locally and in diaspora on value added properties across the country.

Joe has over 18 years commercial and CX leadership experience having worked in mid and senior leadership roles with industry – leading organizations including Safaricom PLC, Multichoice Kenya, Equity Bank and Twiga Foods.

He is a champion of Customer Experience as the key catalyst for commercial growth.

Angela Rarieya is a Customer Experience Specialist with a track record of successful business process re-engineering projects to facilitate organizational change.

She is the Head of Customer Experience at Liberty Life and has previously worked at both SBG Securities (formerly CfC Stanbic Financial Services) and Safaricom Ltd.

Her marketing experience was gleaned at Old Mutual Asset Managers (K) Ltd as a Business Development Manager and at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

She possesses over a decade’s experience in executive management with strengths in leadership, customer experience, communication and public speaking.

Angela Rarieya
Loise Mboo

Loise Mboo is passionate about three things: People Development, Service Excellence and Organizational Development.

She currently serves as the Chief of Staff and Director of Wellness at the Open Institute, where she enjoys and advocates for the use of data to build and support collaborations between government, citizens, and civic society in the development of citizen-driven solutions.

Loise is particularly adept in organizational development and customer experience having built and led CX departments across different industries in the public and private sector. She is also a CX auditor and has supported various organizations in their CX transformation and business process review, including facilitating board capacity programs.

During her tenure in public service, Loise maintained a 95% rating on the service delivery matrix under the GoK Performance contracting assessment for three years and has over the years, implemented transformative, sustainable, and customer-driven strategies, policies, systems, and structures. She sits on several boards where she has transformed service operations and built numerous organizational partnerships.
